Why come to counselling?
Counselling isn’t just for someone in turmoil or a crisis. It can be to resolve issues before they occur or to work on a happier more fulfilled you. Everybody experiences something that is challenging and they are not always able to solve this on their own. Counselling can provide the practical tools and insight to regain balance and move forward. At times it isn’t enough, or appropriate, to talk to family and friends and I can provide a safe environment for you to discover and learn more about yourself and to work through what is bothering you.
What is the difference between Counselling & Psychotherapy?
A very simple explanation is that Counselling is generally short term focusing on treating the effects of a stressor and setting goals and is solution focused. Psychotherapy is an ongoing exploration of your conscious and unconscious minds and how they work together. It is about exploring thoughts, feeling and behaviours, both past and present, to assist in change and a more positive future.
How do I make an appointment?
The best way is to phone at any time. If I am unable to answer, please leave a message and I will contact you as soon as I can. Skype, phone or in person appointments are available. Hospital or similar visits as well state-wide travel can be arranged.
When are appointments available?
Appointments are available at flexible times; early mornings, business hours and some evening and weekend appointments are also available.
Is counselling confidential?
My room is quiet and very private. All sessions are confidential in accordance with the Australian Counselling Association guidelines. This is a safe place to talk and share.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed.
I am also happy to see you whilst you are waiting for an appointment you have been refereed for. At times there is a number of weeks in-between and I can help you with some strategies and support whilst you are waiting.
How do I pay?
Cash, paypal, eftpos or bank transfer is available
Do you work with Children and Couples?
No, I only work with adult individuals, however we can certainly discuss and work through children, family and relationship difficulties together.
How long are sessions?
Typically one hour. However, on your first visit we may take half an hour longer.
Is there parking?
Yes there is plenty of public carparking available close by

Yes I am located 2 blocks from the Rosny bus mall
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We can reschedule if needed, however a period of 48 hours’ notice is required or the full fee applies.
